Oops! Dingleberry is a Bad Word!!

What I really meant was DINGBAT!!! Oh Well!!
Hello Everyone,
I am printing the schedule for the rest of July. This is helpful if you want to copy and print to keep in your bible. Basically, we will finish Acts and read into the first three chapters of Romans this month. In addition, we will read through Psalms 56:

July 18- Ps. 20-22, Acts 21:1-17
July 19 - Ps.23-25, Acts 21:18-40
July 20 - Ps. 26-28, Acts 22
July 21 - Ps. 29-30, Acts 23:1-15
July 22 -Ps.31-2, Acts 23:16-35

July 25- Ps. 37-39, Acts 26
July 26- Ps. 40-42, Acts 27:1-26
July 27- Ps. 43-5, Acts 27:27-44
July 28- Ps. 46-48,Acts 28
July 29- Ps. 49-50, Romans 1
July 30- Ps.51-53-Romans 2
July 31 - Ps. 54-56, Romans 3

The July meeting was such a great time! We had a small group and lots of good food and good conversation. Some of us were ahead and some behind on the reading, but all are enjoying the task to which we have committed ourselves! Whether you have kept up or not, be sure to come to the meetings - totally enriching good girlfriend time!! The next meeting in August has a date change - sorry!!! - I will try to avoid those!!! We will meet on Thurs. Aug. 7th - Please mark your calendars with the date change! Can't wait to see you there!

Remember to make this work for you - for example, I read all of Acts but I decided not to read Job. I wanted to dedicate more time to it instead of starting in the middle. I will finish strong with Job and have time to study more about it. ......If you feel like dropping out because you had a slow start, let me encourage you to start again with the middle of Psalms and the beginning of Romans (Romans starts the last 3 days of July). Those of us who have been reading (and I am one of the worst about dropping behind, then having a couple of catch up days) have found that it is truly not unmanageable - support is great! You can do this and will enjoy doing it with girlfriends!!

Oh.... and yeah!!!! We have one official comment on the blog!! Be brave- post questions, thoughts, responses! Congratulations Lynn on the purchase of your first study bible!!!

Happy Reading All!!

i just read the psalms for today's reading and was so encouraged. i thought i'd share some of the verses that struck me.

psalm 33
12 - Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
i would love to see this happen for our nation again

18 - But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love
what a promise to take with you, and to give to those around us. he is always watching us! with his unfailing love!

psalm 34
4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.
deliverance.... amazing

8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
we used to sing a song in church when i was a kid that had this verse in it. i have been singing it all morning

18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
again, what a promise. hope is an amazing gift

hope you enjoyed the psalms as much as i did today!
